How Long Does It Take for Your Order to Ship?
When you place an order with Strange Smells in the Attic, it doesn’t just slide off a warehouse shelf and into a box. Every bottle is made, filled, and labeled in small batches—like a little potion crafted just for you. That means your shipping time is tied not just to the post office, but to the perfume-making process itself.
Why It Takes Time
Perfume-making isn’t something that can be rushed (trust us, the goblins have tried). Think of it as a strange hybrid of pharmacy precision and old-world alchemy—equal parts measuring cylinder and cauldron. Here’s why it takes a little while before your fragrance is ready to fly out the door:

Batching & Measuring
Every fragrance is hand-poured with the same accuracy you’d expect from a medication being mixed in a hospital—down to precise weights and ratios. But instead of sterile IV bags, we’re conjuring tiny bottled spells. -
Bottle Prep
Each glass vial or bottle is carefully cleaned, dried, and inspected. Lids and sprayers are tested to make sure they’ll deliver fragrance mist, not sad little dribbles. -
Settling & Inspection
Freshly mixed ingredients sometimes look cloudy or bubbly. A short “settling period” allows the perfume to clarify—like letting a potion calm itself before it’s deemed safe for use. -
Labels & Final Touches
Labels are aligned and applied by hand. It is everyone’s least favorite part of the process. 😂 It’s slow and laborious. -
Packing with Care
Finally, your order is wrapped and secured so it won’t arrive as a fragrance crime scene. Just handle with care once it’s in your hands—glass bottles are many things, but bouncy isn’t one of them.
The Shipping Window
Most orders take 7–14 days before they are shipped out. This gives us time to measure, blend, settle, label, and prepare each bottle properly. Once it’s on its way, delivery times depend on your local postal service.
