Viscera Vows

Some vows were never meant to heal — only bind.

Viscera Vows smells like a forgotten apothecary after midnight — dark mahogany cabinets lined with amber glass tincture bottles, worn leather medical journals, steel instruments gleaming cold beneath low lamplight, and the faint ghost of incense and bitter coffee hanging thick in the air.

It opens with black roasted coffee — rich, medicinally bitter, dark as tincture — cut by a dry citrus peel brightness that feels less juicy and more botanical, like crushed rind steeped in spirits. There’s an old-world seriousness to it. Clean in the way antiseptic is clean. Sharp in the way a scalpel is sharp.

Then the heart turns strange and beautiful — coriander seed, cracked pepper, and warm nutmeg blooming like ground spices in a chemist’s mortar and pestle. Herbaceous, aromatic, quietly intoxicating. Dark chocolate bitterness and green spice flicker underneath, giving it the smell of old remedies, velvet waistcoats, and beautifully questionable decisions made in candlelight.

The dry down is where Viscera Vows becomes haunting. Earth-heavy vetiver, old wood, moss, and sacred smoke settle close to skin like a second anatomy — sandalwood polished smooth as antique cabinets, resinous incense curling like ether in a dim surgical theatre, softened by a whisper of vanilla that reads more opiate tincture than dessert.

There is something beautifully clinical about it —
sterile steel, amber medicine bottles, black coffee left untouched on a desk, ink-stained fingers, and devotion that borders on obsession.

Not hospital-clean.
Victorian operating theatre clean.
Dark academia with a pulse.

Wear it when: you want to smell like forbidden knowledge, elegant ruin, and a man who knows exactly where the heart is — anatomically… and otherwise.
